Costing

How much does it cost to run a programme?

econ guy and econ girl

Costing is the process of determining how much your programme costs now and areas of potential savings in the future. Costing is different from expenditure and budgets. Costing estimates the dollar value of 1 year of running your programme. It takes into account that while some of the costs, such as purchasing vehicles, may have been incurred in a previous year, it is most accurate to reflect their purchase cost annualized over many years since they are used for a long time.

In this section of Immunization Financing, you will be able to:

  • Determine the financial, or dollar, cost of your immunization programme,
  • Develop a costing table,
  • Identify operational and capital costs,
  • Analyze your programme costs.
